Once the adapter has been screwed on to the treatment bottle, 

Applying Treatments If using an oil or a more liquid type treatment, once the adapter is turned upside down, the treatment will begin to flow with little or no squeezing from
treatment bottle. If using shampoos or conditioners, some of these treatments may require a firmer squeeze of treatment bottle, or the treatment may need to be slightly watered down to flow more smoothly. Once the desired amount of treatment is on the scalp, stop squeezing bottle and move the adapter to another area of the scalp and repeat the process of touching and squeezing bottle until the entire scalp is covered.  

Massage & Scratch Scalp
Unscrew Scalp-n-Go adapter from treatment bottle and hold firmly in hand. Touch adapter through hair to the scalp and lightly move back in forth with short movements along the scalp, then repeat as necessary.

To Clean
The adapter consist of 2 parts joined together. Firmly grasp the upper and lower parts and press together and turn upper half counter clockwise. Use hot water to clean. If finger tips become clogged, use a paper clip to unclog tips. To re-assemble, firmly grasp the two parts and press together firmly while twisting the top half clockwise approximately 1/2 inch. If the two parts seem difficult to re-assemble, the O-ring on the upper half of the unit may have become dry. Apply a thin layer of vasaline to the O-ring and re-assemble.
